Business Start Ups
You have a great idea but may need support in turning the idea into a financial model & business plan. We can help with this & will remain with you while you secure the right investment (& hopefully afterwards too!) We will help you decide on the correct structure for your business (incorporating your business with Companies House, if required) & help you make sure that you adhere to the many rules & regulations that govern & protect businesses. We are recommended by a number of banks in this area. But producing a plan is one thing. We go much further. We strive as hard as you to make the plan work!
"Big" Business Support
Larger businesses can afford the luxury of a full time expert in every field, whereas smaller business cannot. Large businesses are normally precise, while smaller businesses often work on gut feel. Because Pope & Co are one of the small number Management Accountants which is authorised to work “in practice” we can offer the levels of support that normally only large businesses can afford. End of year accounts have limited use & are often only a “distress purchase”. Monthly management accounts provide more up to date information. Even better are Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that focus on the key drivers to success & can be used on a daily or weekly basis to help you to see what is going right & what is going wrong, while it is happening. We will help you by setting up & running a bespoke set of KPIs that will help you meet your goals & we won't rest until those goals are met.

Interim & Part-time Financial Management
Martin D Pope has experience leading both Financial & non Financial teams & has a strong track record in business turnaround, systems implementation, disposals & acquisitions. He is a "commercial" bias. We offer interim or part time financial management & management consulting when your business has a short-term requirement.
Fraud
According to the Association of Fraud Examiners "Report to the Nations on Occupational Fraud 2010" the typical organisation loses 5% of its annual turnover to fraud. Worldwide this amounts to well over £2 trillion. Despite the recession fraud continues to be a growth industry. As certified fraud examiners we examine data & records to detect & trace fraudulent transactions, interview suspects to obtain information & confessions, write investigation reports, advise clients on our findings & testify at trial. Many businesses shut their eyes to fraud; Pope & Co isn't one of them!
